Students’ Club

The College has the following Students’ Clubs: Drama Club, Debate and Extempore Club, Music Club, Quiz Club and Photography and Nature Club. These Clubs function under the aegis of the Students’ Activities Subcommittee. Students from the various departments are encouraged to participate in the Cultural Programmes that are organized by the Clubs. Members of the staff are actively involved in the Club activities and are responsible for co-ordinating and planning various events for the participation of students. In previous years, the Clubs have organized intra-College events in the above various cultural categories to commemorate the birth Anniversary of our founder Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar. These events have been very successful and have generated significant cultural awareness among the students and keep alive the importance of extracurricular activities as an intrinsic part of the educational ethos of the college.

Apart from these, the various students’ club prepares students for different cultural competitions in which they represent the college. Some of our recent laurels have been the first position in quiz competition and second position in extempore at Youth Parliament Competition oragnized by Department of Parliamentary Affairs, Government of West Bengal in 2017. College bagged second prize in the Kolkata District Youth Parliament Competition oragnized by Department of Parliamentary Affairs, Government of West Bengal in 2019. College stood first in Kolkata District in quiz competition held in Bethune College, organized by Government of West Bengal in 2018. College was also a winner of quiz competition in Zoo Festival held at Zoological Garden, Kolkata in 2018. College came second in Inter-college drama competition at different events held by ANIK GR and Vidyasagar College for women in 2019. The second position of the college at the inter-college cultural competition Bangla Sanskriti Mela 2009, is one of its previous achievements.
