Students’ Union

The Students' Union of Vidyasagar Metropolitan College plays a pivotal role in fostering a vibrant and engaging campus community. Comprising elected representatives from various classes, the Union serves as a platform for student voice and participation in college affairs.

Constitution:

• The Principal of the College assumes the role of the Ex-officio President of the Students' Union executive committee.
• Office bearers of Student Union are democratically elected.
• The tenure of office for the Students' Union is one year.
• Every bonafide student is by default a member of the Union.

Role and Activities:
The Students' Union actively coordinates various student activities, promotes academic interests, maintains discipline, and upholds the dignity of the college. It serves as an effective instrument in the smooth functioning of the institution, organizing seminars, cultural and literary competitions, and sports events under the supervision of respective Sub-committees. The General Secretary of the Students' Union holds an ex-officio position in the College Governing Body.

Annual Festivities:
The Students' Union organizes three annual festivities that bring the entire college community together in celebration. Nabin Baran Utsab (Freshers' Welcome) marks the beginning of the academic year with joy and excitement. The Annual Cultural Function, is a grand event filled with performances and activities showcasing the talents of students. Additionally, Saraswati Pujo, celebrated before the exam period, is adorned with decorations and student participation, creating a sense of joy and unity among all.
Through its initiatives and events, the Students' Union enriches the college experience, fostering camaraderie, creativity, and a sense of belonging among students.
